Maharashtra businessman and politician Pankaj Parakh has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for owning “the most expensive gold shirt in the world”.
Parakh own a shirt made completely out gold, weighing 4.10 kg. It was estimated to be worth Rs. 98,35,099 in 2014. The current price of it is estimated to be over Rs 1.30 crore.
“This is simply unbelievable. I am a small man from a remote area in Maharashtra. I am happy that this achievement had catapulted my village name into the whole world,” Parakh said.
His fancy shirt is also accompanied with a gold watch, several gold chains, large gold rings, a gold mobile cover and golden-framed spectacles and the entire package weighs a whopping 10 kgs!
“I had stitched this special gold shirt with seven golden buttons for my 45th birthday two years ago. I have been fascinated by gold since my school days and over the years it became a passion, almost an obsession,” Parakh described his prized possession.
While Parakh has the Guinness world record, he is not alone in when it comes to this crazy habit.
